Every year, to end the year, I put together lists of what I think Apple did best and worst for the last 12 months. I’ve already posted the list of the worst so, now, I’m going to spend a got minute focusing on the positive. What Apple did right and how I’d like to see Apple keep building on it for next year.

Not because I’m a fanboy or apologist or any other dismissive term those who have tribal fury but lack the articulation to form any factual, cohesive arguments to the contrary, but because if you don’t recognize the good along with the bad, the jobs well done amongst those still left to be done, them you fail to promote the direction you want to see continue and focus you want to see carried on.

So, what made this year’s list?

Lory Gil and Mikah Sargent are the stars of the show this week with a variety of different tech stories. First, Instagram is making it possible to share your stories with only your closest friends. They've also improved the accessibility of the platform by allowing users to provide text descriptions of the images they post. This is similar to a feature Twitter has previously implemented to benefit the visually impaired.

There's huge news in the re-kindled (pun not intended) relationship between Amazon and Apple. Available later this December, Echo devices will support Apple Music.

In less happy news, Marriott says records from 500 million Starwood guests were stolen in a massive data breach. The extent of the information leaked in the breach is still being determined.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is giving the keynote address at the Anti-Defamation League's anti-Semitism and anti-hate summit in New York on December 3rd.

Finally, Mikah and Lory share their gadget picks of the week! Come on in, it's getting cold outside!

The discussion turns to various bits and bobs of Apple news, including the (PRODUCT)RED Sport Loop for Apple Watch, Rene's thoughts on the inevitability of Mac transition to ARM processors, and using Poké Ball Plus with Pokémon GO.

The crew also have a lengthy conversation about the FUD behind Apple's T2 security chip, repairability of tech products, and the merits of wanton device destruction vs. vivisection in the name of science and education. Dive in!

t's happening! Apple has sent out invitations to an event on October 30th in Brooklyn, NY. Lory Gil and Rene Ritchie are here to wander and wonder about the features coming to new iPad Pros and a possible update to Mac mini. They also discuss new additions to Apple's privacy site, and CEO Tim Cook has called for Bloomberg to retract an article about alleged hardware hacks on servers used by the company.

iPhone XR preorders are now available! It may not generate the same amount of frenzy as its more expensive siblings, but Rene and Lory talk about how it is anything but an entry-level phone — and why it's probably the best choice for most users.

Finally, Adobe is bringing Photoshop to iPad in 2019. They say it is "real" Photoshop, but, as Rene explains, that doesn't necessarily mean "full" Photoshop.

Right now, in our very own galaxy, a small band of freedom fighters are here to deliver the not-so-secret Apple news of the week.* Rene Ritchie, Georgia Dow, and Mikah Sargent give a sneak peek at Rene's awesome new Siri Shortcuts video, and they follow up on the alleged Chinese hack of Supermicro server hardware.

Rene reviews the Apple Watch Nike+ Series 4 and explains why it's the aluminum Apple Watch to get — as long as you don't want the gold color option. In addition, Google announced the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL this week. There are a couple good features Apple should consider "borrowing" for future iPhones.

Finally, the crew gaze into the crystal ball of iPad Pro rumors as they try to devine what capabilities it may include.

Steve Jobs passed away seven years ago — the iMore show begins on a somber note as the team reflect on his contributions to the world as a technology and creative visionary.

Rene Ritchie, Lory Gil, and Mikah Sargent put on their tin foil hats for a discussion about Bloomberg's bombshell article about chips being secretly placed into servers sold to companies like Apple and Amazon. Both companies have refuted claims made in the article, so what's the truth? The coverup can be worse than the crime. They also talk about Tim Cook's recent statements regarding Apple privacy policies and the lengths they go to protect user data.

Will Apple host an event in October to unveil new iPad and Macs, or will the products receive a simple press release? Finally, Lory and Mikah 'Muricasplain the United States national alert system to Rene. Tune in!
